Director of Marketing

Overview

The YMCA of the Ozarks Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood is looking for a creative and talented individual to lead the marketing efforts for our respected not-for-profit organization. Located 90 minutes from St. Louis on 5,200 acres of forest-covered hills in Missouri’s eastern Ozarks, Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood has a proud history of providing exciting opportunities for people of all ages to build strong relationships. As the Director of Marketing, you’ll play a vital role in developing the strategic marketing plan promoting a wide range of programs and services. You’ll work with a dedicated team to develop effective materials and outreach efforts for our residential summer camp, ranch, outdoor education center, family programs, holiday events, corporate camps, church retreats, Elderhostel programs, and teambuilding services.

Requirements

Education:       Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field.

Experience:      The Director of Marketing must have professional experience and/or training in the fields of marketing, sales, promotions, public relations, and communications. It would be desirable for the Director to have some experience in the field related to camping, conference centers and/or hotel resort sales and marketing. The Director should also have some experience in the physical development of brochures and other printed interpretive materials, newsletters and public relations materials, and to assist other staff with the development of the same. He/she should have some knowledge in the production of media and multi-media programs and presentations. He/She should gain the YMCA increased visibility via news stories, press releases, photographs, etc. Experience in graphic design is also preferred. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate production of the collateral marketing materials.
  • Provide all PR support for the YMCA, including events, ceremonies and trade shows.
  • Assist with the preparation of marketing reports and other special publications.
  • Develop the yearly marketing schedule by October of the prior year.
  • Maintain an effective presence of in-house marketing materials as it pertains to special weekends and sales efforts, including in-room communications.
  • Maintain YMCA of the Ozarks web-site.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and manage approval process of all print ads and direct mail pieces.
