Feed the hungry! Operation Food Search, the area’s largest distributor of free food in St. Louis and 30 additional counties in Missouri and Illinois, is looking to fill a key position – Executive Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator. Ideal candidate will be highly organized and will have a keen appreciation for social justice with strong skills in time management, communication, and goal setting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Provicient in Microsoft Office 2007 applications with an emphasis on Access. A familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Strong writing skills. Outgoing personality. A familiarity with the St. Louis area is helpful.
Job Description:
This is a fast-paced job in a small, friendly, non-profit setting. Day-to-day duties are varied and there is always room to take on challenges and learn new skills. The organization has numerous events such as a golf tournament, Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, food drives, Warners’ Warmup Coat Collection, and Empty Bowls; this position does much of the coordination and execution of such events.
Operation Food Search has a steady source of volunteers and a significant portion of the job involves scheduling the volunteers and giving them an introduction to the organization when they arrive. This allows for a good deal of phone and face-to-face interaction.
This position offers a unique view of a nonprofit: one can see the different parts of the organization come together, while also working closely with the Executive Director and seeing the administrative and development perspective. This is an ideal position for someone aspiring to work in development or nonprofit management.
