The Director of Fund Development is responsible for the organization and planning of all non-Race related fundraising activities. The person in this position is responsible for diversifying and expanding current fundraising strategies with emphasis on planned giving, third-party events, national programs, annual giving, and special events.

Oversee third-party fundraising programs by serving as the main point of contact for all third-party events inquires. Implements third-party contracts and incorporates educational awareness into third-party events.

Serve as internal expert on the Komen Organization’s and St. Louis Affiliate’s guidelines for third-party events. Ensures compliance by third parties with all Komen Organization rules and regulations, as well as applicable law.

Manage and expand Komen National fundraising opportunities such as Passionately Pink® and the BMW Ultimate Drive®.

Identify and present to the Executive Director and Affiliate Board new event opportunities for diversification of Affiliate funds.

Responsible for the creation and development of the annual giving campaign.

Responsible for coordinating and implementing future planned giving programs.

Responsible for coordinating and implementing future major donor program. Cultivates and fosters relationships with current and future major donors to increase giving.

Utilize Special Events Committee to expand and support all fundraising efforts.

Responsible for maintaining event related items on Affiliate website.

Serve as staff liaison to the Events Committee. Attend special events committee meetings as necessary to provide input and guidance and assist in planning of the event.

Represent the Affiliate when necessary at third party events.

Support Executive Director and Board with other Affiliate projects and events as requested.

Possible travel throughout the Komen St. Louis service area and to National training and meetings.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience plus 3 years of successful business and/or fundraising experience with an organization of similar size and budget as Komen St. Louis.

Proven track record in developing and managing comprehensive fundraising programs that incorporate individual giving and corporate sponsorship.

Strong organizational skills to plan, implement, and administer fundraising events. Excellent interpersonal skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Self-motivated, team player with the ability to meet deadlines, remain flexible and adjust to changing priorities. The ability to work collaboratively with board members, committee chairs, staff, volunteers and the public. Capable of working flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed to meet Affiliate needs.
