March 13 Lunch Program – “Tackling Tough Topics” with Michelle Bain, author/creator of Thumbs Up Johnnie
In today’s fast paced, over-stimulated world, children face many unique challenges. How do you teach them about health, nutrition, diseases and emotional issues while remaining in their developmental framework? Michelle Bain shares the strategies she’s created with nonprofits that reach kids on even the toughest topics. Thumbs Up Johnnie’s team has tackled issues for the March of Dimes, Siteman Cancer Center and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. While some circumstances are never easy to talk about, Michelle will present some engaging tools that have worked wonders.

Learn from nonprofit and corporate representatives about how to create meaningful opportunities for community corporations to get involved in your organization as volunteers, donors and partners. Gain insight into the best avenues to connect with large corporations; what kinds of volunteer, marketing and giving opportunities are attractive to corporations; and how you can work together to grow your organization through such partnerships.

Diane Kline is the 2011 winner of CSPRC's annual PR Professional of the Year award! Diane was selected by a panel of judges looking for the most talented, dynamic nonprofit professional. She received the award at CSPRC's June 2011 President's Luncheon, where she was surrounded by CSPRC members, board members and her co-workers. Diane is director of marketing at the Regional Arts Commission in St. Louis.
