Local nonprofit Gateway Greening was recently a finalist in the Pepsi Refresh Project, a national cause marketing effort by the beverage giant. Representatives from Gateway Greening will share what they learned about their successful foray into cause marketing and give suggestions for how it can work for your nonprofit.

This is our annual joint meeting with the St. Louis Chapters of International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

With the hype surrounding social media, direct-to-consumer communication and user-generated content, what place does “news” hold in the minds of consumers? Does the news media still influence and impact people? How are consumers digesting news? Amy Mitchell, deputy director for the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism and author of the Annual Report on the State of the News Media, will unpack these issues at Jan. 19 meeting of PRSA, IABC and CSPRC. Mitchell will delve into the changing face of journalism, how the industry is managing the transition and emerging players for 2011. Join us for an informative and provocative session that’s sure to get you thinking in the New Year!

About our speaker: Amy S. Mitchell is Deputy Director for the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism. She is involved in all aspects of the PEJ, with a primary focus on designing and managing in-depth research reports including the Annual Report on the State of the News Media.
